Why Are There Fees?
Sometimes people wonder why there are fees involved. There are several reasons.
First, Ellin Jimmerson is on no organization’s payroll. This is in no small way responsible for the fact that the advocacy messages of The Second Cooler and Ellin differ substantially from that of other films and other speakers — and why they are necessary to hear.
Second, the film was expensive to make and is expensive to promote. To date, Ellin Jimmerson’s organization, the Huntsville Immigration Initiative, LLC, has spent approximately $50,000. About $25,000 came from tax-deductible donations. The remaining $25,000 came from Ellin Jimmerson and her husband.
Third, although the film is completed, the expenses continue. The Jimmersons have spent thousands of dollars in expenses related to film festivals, for example. Ahead are thousands of dollars to be spent for liability insurance and replication of DVDs, among other things.
